Though I don’t consider myself much of a writer, I have a need to write. In the process of writing and communicating, our thoughts become sharper, more refined and clear. I’m Suzanne Tilton and enjoyed a teaching career in public education for 28 years from 1982 to 2010, in Utah, Florida and, most recently, in North Carolina. This blog, Educating Suzanne, riffs on the 1983 movie titled Educating Rita. Starring Julie Walters and Michael Caine, the British film treats concepts of freedom, change, the shortcomings of institutional education, plus the nature of self-development and of personal relationships.
